The biggest difference between my soap and commercially manufactured soap is the glycerin content. Commercial soaps remove the naturally occurring glycerin. Glycerin is much more profitable to sell on its own than it is to leave in the soap. Most commercial soap is not really soap at all. Actually, it is a detergent bar that can be harsh and drying. Also, quite a few commercial soaps contain sodium beef tallow which is beef fat. I choose to not use animal products in my soap. My handmade soaps are made with: coconut oil, olive oil, palm oil, rice bran oil, shea butter and may have: infused herbs, blueberry or cranberry seeds, oatmeal, goats milk, coconut milk, Honey or coffee grounds, 100% pure essential oils or fragrance oil and take 30 days to cure.
